Veramin

Veramin is a beautiful town near Tehran. It is situated in South-East of Tehran in a very fertile land. The tradition of weaving fine carpets in this town goes back for many centuries.

Carpets of Mina Khani design (a stylized floral lattice) have been produced in the town of Veramin for at least 100 years. Veramin are made in workshops, on a cotton foundation and with a Turkish knot. They are good quality carpets, but unfortunately they are rarely found outside Persia. Rugs and runners are made too, but these are even more difficult to come by. Top qualities Veramin are expensive, as they are durable and have the all over design so popular among collectors in the west.
