In 1947 Pakistan became independent from India and is now in the mainstream of rug production. Rugs woven in Pakistan are still woven at home, to a large extent, following the influences of Persian, Moslem and Turkomen craftsmen. Pakistan rugs can be identified by their wide variety of colours and the repetitive 'gul' motif.

Elephants foot motifs can be seen across the bokhara rugs that are usually quite finely woven and durable.

The good quality wool which is a perfect companion in homes with both traditional or modern furnishing and decor. The repeatedly combed wool gives for a very luxurious pile having a similar texture to silk, which is part of the reason for their popularity in today's market.
