Persian carpets are an essential part of persian art and culture. Carpet weaving dates far back to the persian empire with relics such as the pazyryk 500 BC rug, one of the oldest rugs in history.
It is the oldest Iranian city and one of the oldest in the world. The valley of
Hegmataneh in the city contains a lot of the relics of Media, Achaemenid,
Sassanid and Islamic era civilizations.
Hamedan province is located in the western part of the country with an area of
more than 19000 square kilometres. It is bounded on the north by the
province of Zanjan, on the south by lorestan, on the east by the central
province and on the west by Kerman shah and Kurdistan. The population of
Hamedan province is distributed in the 6 cities of Hamedan (capital of the
province), Malayer, Nahavand, Tuserkan, Kabudarahang and Asadabad as
well as their various districts and villages.
Hamedan are commonly known to have geometrical and floral designs and
range from different colours but are mainly considered to be red.
